Maintenance Associate – Hyatt Place Houston Downtown

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time | [Flexible Schedule / Rotating Shifts]

About Hyatt Place:

At Hyatt Place Houston Downtown, we believe in making guests feel comfortable, cared for, and connected. Our team is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment that blends modern style with genuine hospitality. We’re looking for a Maintenance Associate who can work side by side with the Chief Engineer and who takes pride in ensuring that every space—from guest rooms to public areas—is safe, functional, and inviting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve guest room maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Inspect and maintain public areas, meeting rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and communicate major issues to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
  • Ensure all work complies with Hyatt safety and brand standards.
  • Assist with seasonal projects, renovations, and special maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of general maintenance experience (hospitality experience a plus).
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
