JOB SUMMARYThis position will be responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of HVAC duct systems, supports, and related equipmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of experience in HVAC duct installation, preferably in an industrial environment
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
  • Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and materials
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strong understanding of ductwork and HVAC systems, materials, and industrial standards
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain HVAC duct systems, supports, and related equipment
  • Use various tools and equipment, both sheet metal hand and power tools as well as arial work platforms
  • Assemble sheet metal duct sections together in accordance with shop drawings
  • Fabricate pipe spools and components as per project requirements using various welding and fitting techniques
  • Diagnose and repair faults in duct systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of ductwork systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards
  • Test duct systems for leaks using air pressure tests and complete all documentation
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes (SMACNA)
  • Work closely with other trades like welders, plumbers, and electricians to coordinate work on projects
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coordinators, and project managers regarding project status, material needs, and any issues encountered
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA guidelines.
