The Community Engagement Professional serves as a key connector between the organization and the communities it serves. This role is responsible for building strategic partnerships, supporting outreach initiatives, representing the organization in community settings, and utilizing data-driven strategies to improve member engagement and community impact. The position combines relationship management, public health knowledge and accurate reporting to advance health outcomes and organizational priorities.

The Community Engagement Professional serves as a key connector between the organization and the communities it serves. This role is responsible for building strategic partnerships, supporting outreach initiatives, representing the organization in community settings, and utilizing data-driven strategies to improve member engagement and community impact. The position combines relationship management, public health knowledge and accurate reporting to advance health outcomes and organizational priorities.

This position is a combination remote work at home and field facing position that requires about 50-75% travel in surrounding Florida counties with a primary focus on Miami-Dade county

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, schools, faith-based groups, coalitions, and local stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and improve member outcomes

  • Represent the organization at community events, health fairs, meetings, coalitions, conferences, and stakeholder forums

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration that align with organizational priorities, health outcome goals, and population health strategies

  • Serve as liaison between internal teams and external partners to address community needs and improve access to services

  • Support outreach strategies that increase brand awareness and member retention

  • Apply knowledge of public health principles and social drivers of health to identify barriers impacting members and communities

  • Monitor community trends, disparities, and emerging needs to inform outreach priorities and organizational strategy

  • Accurately document outreach activities, events, referrals, and partnership engagement in QuickBase or other tracking systems

  • Maintain accurate data entry to ensure integrity of records and reporting

  • Regular travel throughout assigned region for events, presentations, coalition meetings, and community outreach activities

  • Maintain working knowledge of plan benefits and Medicaid landscape

  • Conduct presentations to community groups in accordance with current approved communications and marketing plans and state regulations

  • Reside in the same region where they are assigned to work

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in corporate social responsibility, community outreach, education, and/or nonprofits

  • Experience in supporting Medicaid health plans and/or underserved populations.

  • Familiarity with Florida geography and culture, particularly South Florida.

  • Must reside in Miami-Dade County, FLORIDA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 2 or more years of experience working in a community serving organization, healthcare or government program serving Medicaid beneficiaries, or vulnerable populations.

  • Proficient in administration and data management systems

  • Knowledge of and ability to navigate community resources

  • Strong knowledge of community-based and faith-based organization operating structures, social determinates of health and health equity

  • Understanding of marketing, social media and public relations and its connection to a field-based role

  • Event, project and/or program management experience.

Location: Candidate is required to reside in Miami-Dade County.

Work Style: Combination remote work at home and travel within the local region of Southern Florida.

Hours/Travel: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time

  • 50-75% local travel to onsite locations attending events and community meetings.

  • This position must be willing to commute through surrounding counties.

  • Frequent evenings and weekends as needed to meet business needs.

  • Occasional overnights.

  • Leader will discuss schedule modifications as evenings, overnight and weekend needs apply.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$58,700 - $70,400 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
