  • Lead the Pre-Bid Process: Review proposal specifications, analyze drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to fully define the scope of work and identify all components needed for a winning estimate.
  • Build Estimates from the Ground Up: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, research material pricing, calculate labor man-hours, and assess equipment costs to create accurate, competitive bids.
  • Leverage Data for Smarter Bids: Research and analyze historical data-including purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity reports-to establish benchmarks and best practices for future estimates.
  • Collaborate on Bid Strategies: Contribute to the preparation of complete bid package documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Adapt & Contribute: Take on additional estimating or preconstruction tasks as assigned, supporting the overall success of the estimating team.

  • Proven Experience: At least 2 years of commercial estimating success, with a track record of translating plans and drawings into accurate, competitive bids.
  • Technical Fluency: Skilled in reading, interpreting, and responding to engineering drawings, technical plans, purchase orders, and contracts - all in clear, professional English.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Comfortable engaging with customers, regulatory agencies, and business partners, providing clear and confident responses to inquiries.
  • Math & Measurement Mastery: Strong command of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, plus the ability to apply geometric formulas and equations to calculate areas, volumes, and quantities for take-offs.
  • Estimating Expertise: Solid understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing, with the ability to balance accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability.
