Job description

MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team at our Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI. This individual will provide comprehensive human resources support across the organization, ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment laws, manage key HR programs and projects, and serve as a trusted partner to leadership and employees while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
  • Manages employee relations by partnering with management and employees to resolve workplace issues and ensure policy compliance.
  • Oversees Canadian HR operations to ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Oversees the daily administration, regulatory compliance, and participant services of retirement savings plans, including 401(k) and RRSP plans.
  • Maintains and updates the HR handbook, policies, and procedures for U.S. and Canadian employees.
  • Assists the Benefits Manager with benefit-related activities and provides backup support during absences.
  • Prepares and submits required government and third-party reports, including EEO-1 and other compliance reporting requested by management.
  • Educates employees on company policies, procedures, programs, and benefits.
  • Maintains and updates the HR intranet to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and timely information.
  • Works on new and exciting HR projects as assigned and discovered.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a full HR Generalist, including employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS, compliance, and project management.
  • Experience managing employee relations, HR compliance, HR projects, and reporting functions.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, compliance and HR best practices in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Expert knowledge of retirement savings plan administration, including 401(k) and RRSP plans.
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce.
  • Experience supporting a Canadian workforce.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
