Commonwealth Cash Management / CommpayHR is seeking an experienced and client-focused External People Ops - HR Generalist to deliver fractional Human Resources services to our client organizations. This role acts as a trusted HR business partner, supporting client leadership teams with hands-on HR guidance, compliance support, and people-centered solutions.
The External People Ops - HR Generalist plays a critical role in advancing our "Be the Employest" initiative - helping client organizations become employers of choice while strengthening compliance, process consistency, and employee experience.
This is an ideal opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, client engagement, consulting-style work, and leveraging HR technology to drive meaningful outcomes.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will provide end-to-end HR generalist support across multiple client environments, including:
  • Deliver fractional HR services aligned with each client's defined scope of engagement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, managers, and non-HR stakeholders
  • Administer HR programs including onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training, and policy implementation
  • Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, hiring processes, and new hire orientation
  • Administer benefits programs, including employee communications and issue resolution
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws
  • Support affirmative action initiatives and EEO reporting (including EEO-1 filings)
  • Partner with internal Client Experience teams as needed to support service delivery
  • Act as a project manager for HRIS implementations, payroll platform transitions, and other HR technology initiatives
  • Become an expert in CommpayHR's HRIS and employee management platforms (including iSolved and proprietary solutions such as Share & Perform, Attract & Hire, and Learn & Grow)
  • Identify opportunities to expand client engagements through additional consulting services, software adoption, or improved HR processes
  • Maintain HRIS records, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy
  • Recommend process improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and client outcomes

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment law compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and employee data systems
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable coaching and supporting non-HR leaders and teams

  • Experience working in a client-facing, consulting, or multi-organization environment
  • Familiarity with HR technology implementations or payroll system transitions
