Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Intern will work directly with the Director of Human Resources and HR team members to support day-to-day HR operations and initiatives. This position will require collaboration with multiple departments and office locations to assist with HR-related requests, documentation, and employee programs.

The HR Intern will gain hands-on experience across core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, HR systems, and reporting. This role requires professionalism, discretion, strong organizational skills, and an interest in human resources and people operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the HR team with recruitment activities including job postings, sourcing, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.

Support onboarding processes for new hires, including document collection, system setup, and coordination with office managers.

Maintain and organize employee files and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Assist with updates to HR systems (HRIS), tracking employee data changes, and data audits.

Act as a liaison between the HR team and field team members (office managers and regional managers) when collecting information or documentation.

Support employee engagement initiatives such as recognition programs, surveys, and internal communications.

Assist in the creation and updating of HR resources, SOPs, and toolkits for employees and managers.

Provide administrative support for HR programs related to benefits, performance management, and training.

Assist with compliance-related tasks including acknowledgements, training tracking, and policy distribution.

Support special HR projects as assigned by the Sr. Director of Human Resources.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Stay informed on HR best practices, employment trends, and entry-level HR compliance topics within healthcare and multi-location organizations.

Assist with basic HR reporting, metrics tracking, and data compilation.

Support internal audits and process improvement initiatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (or currently working toward completion) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Prior internship or administrative experience preferred but not required.

Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
