Position Summary

The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day HR functions and overseeing payroll operations for locations in Indiana and Ohio. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle sensitive information with confidentiality, ensure compliance with labor laws, and maintain accurate employee records. The Generalist will serve as a key point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, payroll inquiries, and benefits management. Essential Functions  

  • Facilitate the recruitment process by posting job openings, sourcing candidates, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference checks. Collaborate with the department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  •  Onboard new employees, ensuring they have the necessary training and resources.
  •  Maintain employee records in HRIS and ensure data accuracy.    
  •  Handle employee relations issues and assist in conflict resolution when the Director is unavailable. 
  •  Participate in organizing training and development programs for employees. 
  •  Generate and analyze payroll and HR reports, providing insights to management as needed.
  •  Participate in HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture and processes. 
  •  Other duties as assigned 

Payroll Management 

  •  Process weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, deductions, and payroll taxes. 
  •  Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies. 
  •  Maintain payroll records and documentation compliant with legal and organizational standards. 
  •  Calculate and process terminations, promotions, and raises in a timely manner.  

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel to locations in Lima and Bryan, Ohio when necessary.

Requirements

  •  Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems 
  •  Proven accounting experience handling payroll and general ledger maintenance
  •  Solid math skills with deep attention to accuracy
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  •  Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. 
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
