Job Overview:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including benefits and leave, training on company policies and HR procedures, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Assists in the implementation and creation of employee recognition programs.
  • Support routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Build trusted partnerships with team members through consultative and collaborative efforts.
  • Provide guidance to management to promote and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Guide management in the application and interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Support, facilitate, and create a broad array of HR initiatives including the implementation of programs and processes.
  • Support the HRBP with the Company's learning and development (L&D) program. Including but not limited to the creation, facilitation, and tracking of L&D programs
  • Create accurate and compliant job descriptions.
  • Support the HR Manager in team member career planning to encourage employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee events.
  • Primary support for all HR positions within the department
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Bilingual in English and other languages preferred.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS and benefits database.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
  • Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
  • Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
  • Push, pull, lift, carry at least 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 35 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to walk and stand for short and long periods of time.
  • Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.
  • Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
  • May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
