Job Title: HR Coordinator
Job Description
The Human Resources Coordinator provides crucial administrative and employee-service support throughout the employee lifecycle. This role is integral in coordinating onboarding and offboarding, managing employee inquiries, processing personnel changes, maintaining accurate HR system records, and assisting with recurring HR programs and events. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple time-sensitive activities.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full onboarding cycle for approximately one to four employees per week, including required documentation, system entry, communications, scheduling, and follow-up with new hires and internal stakeholders.
  • Administer employee offboarding activities, including coordinating required documentation, internal notifications, system updates, and other departure-related tasks.
  • Manage incoming HR help-desk tickets, respond to routine employee questions, track open requests, and route complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Process employee changes accurately and promptly in ADP, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure HR records remain complete and current.
  • Prepare personnel status forms and related documentation for new hires and other employee changes.
  • Support the HR Manager with the annual organization-wide personnel status documentation process, including preparation, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Process employment verification requests accurately, promptly, and confidentially in accordance with established authorization and recordkeeping procedures.
  • Provide occasional administrative and logistical support for employee events and other organization-wide activities.

Essential Skills
  • 1 to 2 years of HR admin or coordinating experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of human resources, administrative, or employee-service experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential employee and business information.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and comfort learning HR systems and workflows.
  • Experience using ADP or a comparable human resources information system is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ideally have experience with a government contracting, construction, or engineering firm.
  • Upbeat personality and self-manageable attitude.

Work Environment
The role requires two days in the office, with Monday being mandatory. This is an excellent opportunity to grow into an HR Generalist role within a rapidly expanding engineering/construction firm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Lean, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.84/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
