Job description

Polymer Capital Management is a market-neutral, multi-manager investment platform based in Asia and US, with a primary focus in Asia markets. Polymer combines established institutional support and deep knowledge of local financial markets with a dedication to discovering and developing the region's best investment talent. Polymer was established in conjunction with PAG, one of the world's largest Asia-focused alternative asset managers, in 2019.

Role Overview

The Associate, Human Capital will support day‑to‑day HR operations for the New York office, with a primary focus on payroll processing, HR administration, and employee lifecycle activities (onboarding and offboarding). This is a hands‑on role suited to a collaborative team player who is comfortable working in a fast‑paced financial services environment and partnering closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end‑to‑end payroll for employees, ensuring tax compliance and timely funding
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and applicable employment regulations for New York (and any other US states where employees sit).
  • Act as day‑to‑day point of contact with ADP and other HR/payroll vendors, troubleshooting issues and driving process improvements.
  • Manage US work visa processes for new hires and employees by coordinating documentation, and internal approvals in partnership with external immigration counsel.
  • Partner with hiring managers and the Human Capital team to support end‑to‑end recruitment for US roles, including scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication and managing the ATS system
  • Prepare offer letters and related documentation, conduct reference calls, collection of required personal and compliance information, and alignment with internal approval workflows.
  • Support employee onboarding: set up new hires in HRIS and ADP, coordinate background checks, and run Day 1 orientation logistics.
  • Support employee offboarding: process terminations in systems, calculate and process final pay in line with New York requirements, coordinate notice letters, benefits cessation and access removal.
  • Respond to employee queries on pay, benefits, policies and HR processes with a high level of discretion and service orientation.
  • Partner with the broader Human Capital team in Asia to ensure consistency of policies, while adapting for US and New York‑specific regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of HR operations, payroll or HR generalist experience, ideally in financial services or a fast‑paced professional services environment.
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with ADP payroll (similar platforms), including multi‑state payroll and bonus compensation structures.
  • Solid understanding of US payroll tax regulations, New York employment laws and; exposure to benefits compliance (COBRA, ERISA) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field preferred; relevant payroll or HR certifications are an advantage but not mandatory
