This role is ideal for a highly motivated sales professional with a strong hunter mentality and experience calling into government agencies, contractors, or related organizations.

The Sales Director will have the autonomy to identify, pursue, and develop new client relationships while partnering closely with an internal recruiting team to deliver qualified IT talent and project support. This is a high-impact role with strong earning potential for someone who can build relationships, uncover opportunities, and close business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities within government contracting, federal agencies, systems integrators, and related organizations.
  • Sell IT professional services, staffing solutions, and IT project-based services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers, program managers, procurement contacts, and hiring leaders.
  • Proactively prospect and “hunt” for new accounts, opportunities, and contracts.
  • Call into target organizations to uncover current and future IT project needs.
  • Develop account strategies to grow revenue within new and existing client relationships.
  • Partner closely with internal recruiters to align client needs with qualified IT professionals.
  • Communicate client requirements, project needs, timelines, and expectations to the recruiting team.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, opportunities, and client communications in HubSpot CRM.
  • Use HubSpot to maintain accurate account records, document outreach, manage follow-ups, and provide pipeline visibility to leadership.
  • Stay informed on government contracting trends, IT services needs, upcoming projects, and competitive activity.
  • Represent the company professionally in client meetings, networking events, industry associations, and government contracting forums.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements in partnership with leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a true hunter who enjoys opening doors, building relationships, and creating revenue opportunities. This person should be comfortable calling into government-related organizations and selling IT professional services or staffing solutions.

This role is best suited for someone who is entrepreneurial, self-motivated, competitive, and highly relationship-driven.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A proven sales professional with experience in government contracting or IT professional services.
  • Comfortable prospecting, cold calling, networking, and developing new accounts.
  • Skilled at identifying decision-makers and navigating complex organizations.
  • Able to build credibility with technical, operational, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong at managing a sales pipeline and moving opportunities forward.
  • Collaborative with recruiting teams and internal delivery partners.
  • Highly motivated by commission and long-term earning potential.
  • Professional, persistent, and resilient.
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable using HubSpot CRM to manage contacts, opportunities, activities, and pipeline reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven sales or business development experience in IT professional services, IT staffing, government contracting, or related services.
  • Experience calling into government agencies, government contractors, federal systems integrators, or public sector organizations.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a track record of generating new business.
  • Understanding of IT roles, technical project needs, staffing models, or professional services delivery.
  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle.
  • Experience using HubSpot CRM or similar CRM platform.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with recruiters and internal delivery teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing pipeline activity.
  • Located in or able to support business development efforts in the Washington, DC market.

Preferred Qualifications
