The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $60,000 - $81,000 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Job Description
This role follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work remotely while coming together in the office in Red Wing, MN on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for collaboration. There may also be occasional in-person "Moments that Matter" and key business needs throughout the year that require additional days in the office. Candidates should live within commuting distance of Red Wing, MN at the time of hire. At Red Wing, regardless of working in roles that are fully remote, onsite, or hybrid, what matters most is working together, staying connected, and putting care into everything we do. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.
The Associate Web Developer supports the development, maintenance, and operation of web-based applications and eCommerce platforms used across Red Wing Shoe Company. This role contributes to application development, troubleshooting, and production support while collaborating with technical and business teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications, including new features, improvements, and defect resolution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and system stabilization
  • Support integrations with enterprise systems, including APIs, services, and data exchanges
  • Participate in continuous integration and deployment processes, including builds, deployments, and validation
  • Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, scheduled processes, and data feeds
  • Collaborate with team members to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices
  • Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Work within Agile development practices, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in web or application development; internship experience is applicable

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (preferably Azure DevOps)
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and system integrations
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
