Job description

Working Conditions:
Working conditions are of a professional office environment. Administrative personnel may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. High School diploma and two years related experience in a Safety role.
1.2. Experience in participating in environmental, occupational health or safety programs in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
1.3. Effective communication skills; ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization with confidence, respect and integrity.
1.4. Ability to analyze information, solve problems, work in a team environment as well as on your own, prioritize tasks & projects, manage time effectively and function effectively in stressful situations.
1.5. Experience with 5S, continuous improvement processes and/or ISO management systems strongly preferred.
1.6. Capable of working MS Office suite and the ability to grasp an ERP system.
1.7. Spanish as a second language is a plus.
1.8. Must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Supports the Sr. HSE Manager in the deployment of HSE targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group HSE strategic initiatives designed to drive HSE culture, compliance, and results
2.2. Supports completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize HSE aspects
2.3. Effective communication with all relevant departments on design and use of programs, procedures and equipment.
2.4. Supports site efforts to ensure that key HSE operational controls are in place and that HSE action items are resolved on a timely basis.
2.5. Ensures that every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when an unsafe act or condition has been identified.
2.6. Maintains focus on HSE responsibilities through internal HSE committees and safety meetings.

3.2. Provides training to all department personnel on a variety of safety and health topics.
3.3. Lead HSE related motivation programs that will increase awareness and promote a safety culture.
3.4. Other activities as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop production at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety.
