About the Role
You will represent Yondr and be the voice of Health, Safety and Environment Management during the construction of our data centers in the Northern Virginia area. It is expected that you will be based full-time at one job site at a time. You will be responsible to support our Yondr design and construction team and other Yondr team members, as well as our supply chain partners (e.g., general contractor and vendors), in creating the capacity for successful completion of work. This includes monitoring the jobsite for emerging issues and risks, as well as providing assurance and oversite to our supply chain partners so they can successfully execute the work.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support Yondr and our supply chain partners in ensuring work is completed successfully in accordance with Yondr expectations and HSE principles
  • Provide assurance through conducting regular site inspections, field visits, and spot checks
  • Oversee incident investigations / learnings, as well as proactive learning as needed, and support generating and distributing lessons learned to Yondr's global jobsites
  • Support Yondr leaders in fulfilling their HSE responsibilities
  • Monitor the site for compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental legal requirements and take appropriate steps to ensure compliance
  • Support Yondr in meeting client expectations and requirements by being aware of and taking appropriate steps to ensure compliance with any contractual obligations
  • Coach general contractor and vendors in innovating new ways to improve HSE performance through implementing pilot projects and sharing good practices
  • Assist Yondrites and Yondr guests that come onsite by facilitating site orientations, ensuring they have appropriate PPE, and providing an escort for the walking path

Qualifications and experience (required)
  • 5 years + with HSE management responsibility at an active construction site
  • Experience of the data center industry in construction
  • Bachelor's degree in HSE (or related field) or equivalent demonstratable experience
  • Completed OSHA 30hr construction training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in working in an Office 365 working environment
  • Detailed knowledge of HSE regulatory requirements related to construction sites
  • Able to navigate around an active construction site at all phases to perform site visits
  • Experience implementing NFPA 70e electrical safety standards
  • Experience overseeing crane activities in a construction environment

Qualifications and experience (preferred)
  • Certification as Certified Safety Professional (or equivalent)
  • Experience working as an owner's rep and/or as a general contractor
  • Experience working as a supervisor overseeing HSE personnel
  • Graduate degree in HSE (or related field)
