Job description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to oversee people operations at a manufacturing facility in North Carolina. This onsite leadership role will guide day-to-day HR activities while partnering closely with plant leadership to support recruitment, employee support, compliance, and workforce development. The position offers the opportunity to shape a strong employee experience and drive practical HR solutions in a visible, hands-on environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the full scope of human resources activities for the plant and provide day-to-day leadership to an HR Administrator.
• Manage recruitment efforts for both hourly and salaried openings, from workforce planning and candidate selection through offer coordination and onboarding.
• Act as the primary HR resource for employees and managers by addressing workplace concerns, advising on policy application, and supporting leadership decisions.
• Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action guidance, performance support, and administration of employee leave programs.
• Review payroll activity for accuracy and maintain organized, compliant employee records within the company’s HR systems.
• Administer benefit programs and support annual enrollment processes by assisting employees with questions and documentation.
• Coordinate orientation for new employees, required compliance training, and engagement initiatives that strengthen retention and workplace culture.
• Partner with plant leadership on staffing plans, safety-related efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational goals.
• Ensure HR practices remain aligned with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies.• At least 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated success in full-cycle recruiting, employee relations management, and HR compliance administration.
• Practical understanding of payroll review processes and experience working with HR information systems; familiarity with Oracle is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coach leaders, resolve conflict, and influence decisions effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Background in packaging or other industrial manufacturing environments is considered an advantage.
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday and collaborate directly with plant leadership in a fast-paced production environment.
