Job description

About Fight CRC
Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) is a national nonprofit dedicated to fighting colorectal cancer through advocacy, research, and support for patients, survivors, and families.
If you're a college student who is dependable, organized, eager to learn, and ready to jump in and contribute, you'll fit right in! This internship offers hands-on experience working across multiple areas of a national nonprofit, giving you the opportunity to build practical skills, make professional connections, and see how an organization works behind the scenes-all while supporting a mission that makes a difference.
Position Summary
The Operations Intern provides hands-on administrative and operational support to Fight CRC's day-to-day activities. Working collaboratively with the Office Coordinator and teams across the organization, this role assists with inventory, shipping, event preparation, office organization, and a variety of administrative projects.
The Operations Intern provides additional capacity to support the organization's operational needs while also taking on designated administrative assignments and projects from the HR/Operations Manager.
This position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in nonprofit operations and administration while developing skills in organization, communication, logistics, project support, and cross-functional collaboration.
Because this position supports projects and priorities across the organization, dependability and follow-through are essential. The Operations Intern is expected to communicate proactively, meet agreed-upon deadlines, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities while asking questions or seeking guidance when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Shipping Support
  • Work alongside the Office Coordinator to pack and ship online store orders, educational and promotional materials, event materials, and other organizational shipments.
  • Assist with preparing, labeling, organizing, and staging materials for shipment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and updating inventory records.
  • Receive and organize incoming shipments and supplies.
  • Help maintain organized merchandise, event materials, storage areas, and inventory.
  • Communicate low inventory, discrepancies, damaged materials, or other concerns to the Office Coordinator and HR/Operations Manager.

Event & Conference Support
  • Assist the Office Coordinator and other team members with preparing, packing, labeling, and organizing materials for conferences, advocacy events, retreats, and community activities.
  • Assist with event supply checklists, material preparation, and other logistical needs.
  • Support preparation for organizational events, including the Ambassador Retreat, Strategic Planning Retreat, community gatherings, advocacy events, conferences, and other organizational activities.
  • Assist with event set-up, breakdown, and on-site logistical needs when applicable.
  • Complete event-related administrative assignments as needed.

Office & Administrative Support
  • Help maintain organized office, shipping, storage, and shared work areas.
  • Assist with organizing and restocking office supplies.
  • Support routine mailings, document preparation, filing, scanning, and electronic file organization.
  • Assist with data entry, spreadsheet updates, and record maintenance.
  • Prepare packets, labels, materials, and other documents as requested.
  • Assist with scheduling, research, data collection, and other administrative activities as assigned.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects led by the HR/Operations Manager.
  • Assist other departments with approved administrative projects and organizational needs.

Volunteer & Community Support
  • Assist with preparing materials and supplies for volunteers.
  • Help support on-site activities when Fight CRC hosts meetings, events, or community activities at the office.
  • Assist with preparation for career fairs, local events, community outreach opportunities, and other organizational activities.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for volunteer activities as assigned.

General Operations Support
  • Work collaboratively with the Office Coordinator on shared operational activities when additional support is needed.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding assignments, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Take responsibility for completing individually assigned projects and administrative tasks.
  • Identify questions, concerns, or operational issues and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Provide dependable and timely support to departments across the organization, following through on commitments and proactively communicating when questions, competing priorities, or circumstances could affect a deadline.
  • Support additional administrative and operational projects as assigned by the HR/Operations Manager.

Qualifications
  • Current college student interested in gaining experience in nonprofit operations, business administration, human resources, logistics, or a related field.
  • High level of dependability, accountability, and follow-through, with a commitment to completing assigned responsibilities accurately and on time.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance and on-site availability during the established internship schedule.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace technology.
  • Willingness to perform both administrative and hands-on operational tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with moving materials as needed.
  • Reliable transportation required, with the ability to transport event materials and supplies as needed.
