Job description

Warehouse Merchandise Processor

At Backcountry, our mission is to connect people to their passions. Our four online stores—Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, MotoSport and, SteepandCheap—aim to supply our customers with the gear, knowledge, and inspiration necessary to get out there and chase down life's greatest moments. We do this by providing the biggest and best assortment of premium outdoor products, superior shopping experience, personalized Gearhead expertise, lightning-fast and accurate fulfillment, and inspirational, informative, and community-centered content.

Backcountry has an amazing opportunity for highly motivated individual to join our Warehouse team as a Merchandise Processor! If you are fast on your feet, and love handling all the cool gear we sell from the time it enters our doors to the time it leaves, this job could be for you…consider it more like pre shopping and less like work!

This is a physically active role that keeps you on your feet and moving throughout your shift. You'll spend your time packing orders and loading packages into trailers, which means you should be comfortable with constant standing, frequent bending, and repetitive lifting. If you're someone who prefers hands-on work over sitting at a desk, this is a great fit.

Three Shifts Available:

PM- Mon-Fri, 2:30p-11:00p, $16/hr + $ 1.85/hr shift differential = $ 17.85/hr.

WKN- Sat-Mon, 8:00a-8:30p, $ 16.00/hr + $ 2.00/hr shift differential - $ 18.00/hr

BLACKOUT DATES AND HOLIDAY INFORMATION:

Our warehouse will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day; and we typically work shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. To support our busiest season, our Backcountry fulfillment centers have a blackout period for time off requests. The blackout period is typically from November 10th through December 23rd. During this blackout period, time off requests cannot be approved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to apply established procedures and follow oral/written instructions
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time frames
  • Computer skills, including familiarity with the internet and email required
  • Experience operating power industrial equipment (for example, standing order picker or forklift)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Terms are defined as "Regularly": 60 – 100%, "Frequently": 30 – 60%, "Occasionally": 10 – 30%, "Rarely": 1 – 10%.
