Job description

HR Administrator

Quality Marine

An HR Administrator at Quality Marine assists the HR Manager with documentation, organization, filing, and employee communication. This position will work closely with the HR Manager to learn the company structure and culture in order to ensure constructive communication with managers and employees for positive outcomes with problem-solving, challenges, and changes that may arise. This is a full-time position, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.

Duties include:

  • Create and maintain both physical and digital employee files
  • Conduct new hire orientation, including benefit enrollment
  • Assist with the Recruiting process, including ad placement, resumes review, telephone interviews,
  • Support payroll functions, including ensuring managers review employees' time punches and submit all documentation in a timely manner, answering employee questions, and communicating to the HR manager any changes or corrections needed
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, manage all aspects of Workers’ Compensation claims, from initial report of injury through investigation and coordination of benefits
  • Assist with the administration of the employee benefits program
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of HR files, records, and communication
  • Stay up to date with state and federal labor law requirements
  • Keep all HR filing current
  • Miscellaneous projects and assignments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Human Resource coursework or equivalent experience
  • Human Resources Certificate is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience with ADP payroll processing
  • Flexibility and adaptability and ability to pivot when needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, think independently, and problem-solve to ensure all projects are completed in an effective and timely manner
