Job description

Job Title: HPU SURE Program
Department: Electrical & Computer Engineering
Supervisor: Dr. Eve Klopf
Starting Rate of Pay: N/A ($2k stipend with the option for campus housing and a meal plan for the duration of the SURE program)
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire in future summers
Job Location/ Hours Required:
The candidate will perform most job duties in Couch Hall. This position requires up 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Student participants in HPU's SURE summer research program will be expected to spend 40 hours per week working on research tasks for 8 weeks (June 1 - July 24) during summer 2026. For students selected to work on the lunar power project, tasks will include working on research including tasks such as reading journals, writing code, testing code, drafting presentations or articles, and possibly building and measuring electrical devices in the lab. The student will also participate in activities organized for student participants in the SURE program such as talking with other student participants about their research, listening to speakers, and other similar activities. As a part of their duties participating in the SURE program, the student will give a poster presentation at a research symposium to be scheduled towards the end of the 8 week SURE program.
Required Qualifications:
The student will be an undergraduate at HPU in a STEM field.
