What is a housekeeping VA?

Housekeeping Virtual Assistants (VAs) are remote workers who assist with managing household tasks and organization through online tools. Their responsibilities may include scheduling cleaning services, managing shopping lists, coordinating maintenance appointments, and organizing digital household records. Unlike traditional housekeepers, Housekeeping VAs do not clean homes themselves but help streamline the process and ensure household operations run smoothly. They are ideal for busy individuals or families who need administrative support to maintain an organized home.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a housekeeper, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Housekeeper, you need attention to detail, time management, and knowledge of cleaning techniques, often supported by experience in hospitality or cleaning services. Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemical safety protocols, and sometimes certifications like OSHA training are typical requirements. Strong work ethic, reliability, and good communication help housekeepers work efficiently and provide excellent service. These skills ensure cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction in residential or commercial environments.

What are some common challenges housekeepers face in a hotel environment, and how can they overcome them?

Housekeepers in hotels often face challenges such as maintaining high cleaning standards under tight time constraints, managing heavy workloads during peak seasons, and handling guest requests efficiently. To overcome these challenges, strong time management and organizational skills are essential, as well as open communication with team members and supervisors. Many hotels provide ongoing training and support to help housekeepers stay efficient and maintain quality, while teamwork and a positive attitude can make daily tasks more manageable and enjoyable.

Job description

Job Title: In-Home Caregiver (CNA/PCA) – Private Pay & VA Clients | Metro Atlanta

Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time | W-2 Employee

Location: Serving 11 counties across Metro Atlanta, GA

About OPA Home Care

OPA Home Care is a Georgia-licensed Private Home Care Provider (PCHP) serving private pay and VA Community Care Network clients across 11 counties. We are not a registry. You work as a W-2 employee with a structured schedule, a real clinical team behind you, and an organization that has covered thousands of shifts without a miss.

We are growing — and we are selective.

What You'll Do

  • Provide personal care assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility support)
  • Medication reminders and health observation reporting
  • Light housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship
  • Transportation to appointments as assigned
  • Document care activities accurately in our system of record (AxisCare)
  • Communicate promptly with the scheduling and clinical team on any client changes

What We Require

  • Active Georgia CNA certification or demonstrated PCA experience (minimum 1 year)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Smartphone capable of running care management apps
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen
  • Availability for consistent, recurring shifts (we do not operate as on-call only)
  • Professional communication — phone and text responsiveness is non-negotiable

VA clients: Must be willing to complete VA CCN credentialing requirements upon offer.

What You Get

  • W-2 employment — no 1099, no agency fee deductions
  • Competitive hourly pay (discussed at interview based on experience and availability)
  • Consistent scheduling — we match you to clients, not random daily dispatch
  • Clinical oversight from a licensed RN — you are never operating without backup
  • An organization that takes shift coverage seriously and holds itself accountable

Who Thrives Here

You show up. You document. You communicate. You treat clients with dignity and the job with professionalism. If you are looking for a flexible gig with no accountability, this is the wrong company. If you want a stable care position with a team that operates with discipline, apply.

To Apply

Submit your application through ZipRecruiter. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 48 hours for a brief phone screen. Have your certification number or employment history ready.

OPA Home Care LLC is an equal opportunity employer. Georgia PCHP licensed.
