Job description

The Housekeeping Manager works closely with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure the day -to-day operations of the housekeeping department and public areas are running smoothly. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ensuring the ultimate comfort, safety and quality service that exceeds Peninsula guests' expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Support the Executive Housekeeper in ensuring that the guest experience is in line with the expectations of the Hotel deliverance of excellence in care.
  • Inspect Public Spaces, Guest Rooms, and Back of the House and ensure quality standards are continuously met.
  • Ensure the Housekeeping Department operates according to policies and procedures set forth by the Peninsula Hotel.
  • Expedite all maintenance issues and review out of service rooms with the Executive Housekeeper and Engineering team daily.
  • Review all special requests of arrival and in-house guests and update all Housekeepers assigned to your specific floors.
  • Assist with all annual performance management plans and employee reviews.
  • Take responsibility for Health and Safety within the Hotel ensuring adherence to both statutory regulations and Company guidelines.
  • Responds to guests' special requests, needs and concerns and accommodate to ensure optimal level of guest satisfaction.
  • Assists daily in preparation of work assignments, schedules, staffing and payroll to ensure maximum efficiency.

General Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Hospitality Management or Marketing a plus.
  • 3-5 experience in luxury Hotel Housekeeping or Front of House Management. Union experience a plus.
  • Experience of working within a luxury Hotel environment at supervisory or manager level where excellent standards and service delivery are required.
  • Proven manager with excellent leadership and motivation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Limitless energy and personal motivation to succeed.
