Job description

Position Summary: Housekeeping Room Attendants are responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by ensuring guest rooms are impeccably clean and well-maintained. Room Attendants thoughtfully perform daily service to each guest room, evening turndown service, and prepare guestrooms for new arrivals. Room Attendants are expected to adhere to Forbes Five-Star standards as well as AAA Five-Diamond standards in each task they are assigned.
Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort's actual rate of pay for this position is $18.00 per hour.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience of one year is preferred.
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations required.

Expectations & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Cleaning and servicing assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, and silverware.
  • Upon completing servicing of rooms, notify supervisor so rooms may be sold or occupied.
  • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
  • Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • Replenish supplies and equipment, as needed during the shift.
  • Report faulty equipment, linen shortages, maintenance needs, safely hazards and other problems immediately to the supervisor on duty.
  • Restock work areas for the next shift, as assigned.
  • Must be comfortable communicating with guests they encounter, as well as the Housekeeping staff to efficiently service guest rooms.
  • Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry furniture and equipment.
