Job description

Block Island Beach House's restaurant The Surf has been a celebratory staple of the generations of Block Island visitors. Just steps from the beach, our bustling and breezy restaurant is the first stop for your island adventure. Also located on site, our Beach Bar offers the full open-air outdoor beach experience: frosรฉ all day, classic summer cocktails, and a laid-back vibe from above Crescent Beach.
As the days get warmer and we bring the restaurant back to life after its winter hibernation, we're excited to grow our team with outstanding individuals. We're currently looking for a passionate crew of bartenders to join our incredible FOH family and help lead us into an amazing season ahead.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Energize the atmosphere as a vibrant and welcoming Bartender, delivering exceptional beverage service in a lively hospitality environment
  • You will craft and serve drinks with precision, engage with guests to create memorable experiences, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and customer service
  • Your enthusiasm and expertise will contribute to a dynamic setting where guests feel valued and eager to return
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met

  • Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their experience and promote sales through suggestive selling techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Manage bar inventory, restock supplies efficiently, and monitor alcohol consumption to prevent over-serving
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, perform basic math calculations for bills and tips, and process payments swiftly
