Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Operates single, double or triple-tractor trailers on a combination of city and interstate routes outside of the main bakery plant.
    • Distribute bakery products to depot centers and affiliate bakeries.
    • Responsible for loading and unloading trailers daily.
    • Reload trailers with empty transport baskets to be returned to the main bakery plant.
    • Inter-city destinations constitute short driving distances in contrast to longer destinations to depot center in outlying cities requiring 3 to 4 hour driving times.
    • Related duties and projects as assigned.
    • Drivers are home daily with the exception of inclement weather.

  • Preferred Education/Experience
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Current CDL A Drivers license required.
    • Previous experience in driving doubles; triples driving preferred.

    Critical Skills and Expertise
    • HOURS AND SHIFT: New employees will be assigned to any workday: Monday through Sunday; and any shift: Day, Swing and/or Graveyard based upon production needs. A set schedule of days and shifts will be based solely upon the union bid process.
    • Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift.
    • Must have reliable attendance to meet employer's attendance standards for 24/7 production facility.
    • Pushing/ pulling/ lifting 20lbs frequently.
    • Ability to obtain double/triple endorsement upon hire, if applicable.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Being able to drive within city environment.
    • Being able to maneuver large combination vehicles in tight spaces.
    • Ability to load and unload trailers
    • Pushing/ pulling/ lifting 20lbs frequently
    • Ability to read and understand English - written instructions and diagrams.
