Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
This department consists of 1 Project Coordinator that manages 7 Construction Technicians. This position is responsible for managing $3.6M per budget cycle in Base Capital Projects that consists of miscellaneous construction and facility appearance projects, as well as many BJH Departmental and Washington University funded projects. The Construction Technicians perform super intendant duties on construction projects, as well as various construction related tasks such as: Demolition, Framing, Drywall,Taping, Patching, Painting, Suspended ceiling systems, Flooring Replacement, Modular Furniture installations, various moves and contractor related coordination.

Role Purpose
Responsible for performing multiple construction related tasks with minimal instruction and supervision. Provides part-time on-site leadership on all assigned in-house construction projects.
Responsibilities
  • Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs a variety of construction duties related to carpentry, flooring, painting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning assignments and projects.
  • Assists in preparing estimates and other related documentation for project approval.
  • Estimates the types and amounts of materials required to complete assignments.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordination of all aspects of assigned projects.
