Job description

Salary: $80k to $100k DOE

Position Summary

The In-House Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring skilled professionals for construction and related roles within the organization. This role partners closely with project managers, operations leaders, and HR to ensure the company maintains a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for field and corporate construction positions. The recruiter manages the full recruitment lifecycle while helping the organization meet workforce demands across projects.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Sourcing

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for construction positions, including field staff, skilled trades, supervisors, project managers, and support roles.
  • Source candidates through job boards, industry networks, trade schools, unions, referrals, and recruiting events.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for upcoming and ongoing construction projects.

Hiring Process Management

  • Screen resumes and conduct phone/video interviews to assess candidate qualifications.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and construction leadership.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with background screening and onboarding processes.
  • Ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Partnership with Hiring Managers

  • Collaborate with project managers and department leaders to understand workforce needs and project timelines.
  • Guide job requirements, compensation expectations, and labor market trends.
  • Support workforce planning for upcoming construction projects.

Employer Branding & Outreach

  • Represent the company at job fairs, trade schools, and industry networking events.
  • Promote the company as an employer of choice in the construction industry.
  • Build relationships with trade schools, workforce development programs, and industry organizations.

Recruitment Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain applicant tracking system (ATS) records and recruitment metrics.
  • Track and report key recruiting data such as time-to-hire, candidate pipelines, and hiring success rates.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company hiring policies.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience, preferably within construction, engineering, skilled trades, or related industries.
  • Experience recruiting for both field and office-based construction roles is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of construction roles, terminology, and workforce dynamics.
  • Excellent sourcing and networking skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruiting tools.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
