Job description

Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the detailed planning, organization, management and implementation of complex operations that are related to warehousing. Provides material, equipment and supplies by directly receiving warehousing and distribution services. Prepare and maintain detailed records and files.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of warehouse staff by providing guidance, direction, and support on proper warehouse procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly physical inventory counts, monitor and manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy of work order packages. 
  • Collaborate with Field personnel to confirm the correct materials, parts, and equipment are prepared in accordance with customer requirements for scheduled installation
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and direct salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Interface with suppliers, builders, and subcontractors as necessary
  • Transport stored items from warehouse to field or pick-up items from different locations for shipment.
  • Identify problems and inefficiencies in logistics process; work with department and others to address any discrepancies and develop opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Responsible for the overall productivity and service level of assigned work orders to subcontractors. 
  • Operate forklift/or other material handling equipment as part of the distribution process within a fast-paced warehouse setting 
  • Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow directions. 
  • General knowledge of modern warehouse and inventory practices. 
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
  • Managerial and supervisory skills including the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • Valid Driver’s License

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • 5 years’ of experience in the warehouse or construction industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervision/management.
  • Bilingual is English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Employees are required to lift a maximum of 80 pounds safely, following proper lifting techniques. For any items exceeding 80 pounds or items that are awkward, bulky, or difficult to handle, employees must use team lifts or approved mechanical lifting devices.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the warehouse. 
  • Position works both inside and outside during various types of weather.
