Job description

Please note this is a 2nd shift position - 5PM-5AM - Monday- Friday with some Saturdays


Summary: Responsible and accountable for the coordination and direction of all warehouse activity inside the manufacturing facility toward the achievement of maximum efficiency of operations with the assurance of producing quality products. Responsible for the warehouseโ€™s performance in meeting the companyโ€™s operational goals relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, lead, and mentor hourly warehouse employees.
  • Provide assistance to Warehouse Manager as it relates to training, improving efficiency of warehouse operations, data evaluation, effective and efficient utilization of equipment and people, and process optimization.
  • Prioritize hourly warehouse employee workload, scheduling, and assessing performance.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processes.
  • Comply with and enforce all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
  • Wear and enforce the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with leadership team.
  • Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Follow and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Follow and enforce all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree strongly preferred; otherwise, Associates Degree required

  • Supervisory experience: 2+ years in manufacturing warehouse environment

  • Experience working with and implementing LEAN manufacturing principles preferred

Other Skills and relevant considerations:

  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.

  • Excellent attention to detail required.

  • Good planning and priority setting skills.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required.

  • Must demonstrate ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex sets of data. Able to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.

  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.

  • Must be able to work in a wet and/or humid environment. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals will occur. Exposure to nut allergens.

  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Language Skills:

  • English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.
