Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Assistant Teacher – Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classrooms
The Learning Experience – Upper West Side is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a structured, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and being part of a collaborative early childhood education team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines across multiple age groups
- Support developmentally appropriate learning activities and classroom engagement
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Prepare classroom materials and support group activities
- Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members
- Follow all New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Prior childcare or preschool experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children
- Must meet New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
