Job description

Summary:

The Stihl Technician is responsible for the assembly and sale of Stihl power equipment, as well as in-store repair of Stihl equipment for clients.

Essential Responsibilities:

Completing preventative maintenance on engines, motors, belts and power equipment; Follows diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications; Trouble-shoots malfunctions; Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; Uses precision measuring and testing instruments; Removes defective parts by dismantling devises using hand and power tools; Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests; Keeps Stihl work area clean and well organized at all times; Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures; Works sales floor with other associates when Stihl duties are not needed.

Attendance:

A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required along with the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays. The Stihl Technician can be full-time or part-time, hourly position.

Skills and Qualifications:

The Stihl Technician must possess excellent organization and time management skills, as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties. The Stihl Technician must be able to professionally communicate with clients, all members of store management and store associates. The Stihl Technician must be mechanically-inclined and able to repair small engines. Stihl-certified required.

Physical Demands:

The Stihl Technician is regularly required to walk and use hands to handle objects and tools. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
