Purpose Statement

The position requires the candidate to work independently and as part of a team to procure qualified carriers to transport freight via intermodal service in a timely manner while maximizing margins, developing relationships, and minimizing risks.  The position requires the candidate to be able to track & trace as well as manager customer orders for movement via intermodal transportation. 

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
  • Source/secure (existing and new) drayage carriers and arrange timely pickup of customer's shipment orders
  • Dispatch drivers ensuring a high level of detail, as well as evaluate and select proper rail routings to ensure timely delivery of customer's freight while maximizing profitability
  • Manage and input information into customers Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Enter and update customer and carrier profiles within ROAR's operating system
  • Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls with customers and carriers
  • Ability to aggressively handle rate negotiations with carrier partners
  • Work with an operations team and account managers to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
  • Be a problem-solver and solutions-provider to all customers, carriers and ROAR associates.
  • Be able to handle other tasks as assigned by ROAR Management team, as well as related administrative duties with both accuracy and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics is preferred, but not a requirement.  High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • Two or more years of experience in intermodal operations or related transportation industry
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Products and Transportation Operations Systems
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced, dead-line driven and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency.
  • Candidate should have a positive mindset and be self-motivated.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
