Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Litigation Associate Attorney to join the Litigation Practice Group of a prestigious international law firm in Wilmington, Delaware. This is an exceptional opportunity for a litigation associate interested in sophisticated corporate governance, fiduciary duty, shareholder, and complex commercial disputes before the Delaware Court of Chancery and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of corporate litigation experience, outstanding legal writing and analytical skills, and a strong academic background. Candidates with immediately transferable Delaware litigation experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in complex corporate and commercial litigation matters before the Delaware Court of Chancery and other state and federal courts.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis in support of litigation strategy and case development.

  • Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, pleadings, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.

  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, trials, and appeals.

  • Participate in court appearances, client meetings, strategy sessions, and settlement negotiations.

  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues to develop practical and effective litigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and exceptional client service.

  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Stay informed regarding developments in Delaware corporate law, securities litigation, and commercial litigation.

QualificationsRequired
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Active Delaware Bar admission, or candidates who have sat for the Delaware Bar and are awaiting admission.

  • 1–3 years of litigation experience in the Delaware Court of Chancery and/or the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.

  • Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong professional judgment.

Preferred
  • Experience handling corporate governance, fiduciary duty, shareholder, securities, or complex commercial litigation matters.

  • Experience with motion practice, discovery management, and court appearances.

  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 or similarly sophisticated law firm.

  • Strong client communication and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, collaborative legal environment.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

  • Hybrid work arrangement with regular in-office collaboration and flexibility for remote work.

  • Opportunity to work on high-profile Delaware corporate litigation matters for sophisticated clients.

  • Formal mentorship, professional development, and long-term career advancement opportunities.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a litigation associate seeking to build a premier Delaware corporate litigation practice while working alongside highly regarded attorneys on cutting-edge corporate disputes.
