Job description

Remote/Hybrid: prefer someone who can work in the Wilmington, DE office a few times a month, at least in the first few months of the role. Must reside in the Mid-Atlantic Region (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, or D.C). *


GENERAL SUMMARY 

The Litigation Paralegal’s responsibility is to assist the attorneys in the Intellectual Property (IP) litigation group. The Paralegal will work in electronic discovery, litigation software, MS Word (including Styles), Excel, and Adobe, handle ECF filing experience (especially in the District of Delaware), manage multiple tasks, keep deadlines, and maintain systems for storing and retrieving data. The Paralegal will also manage Compulaw Vision for docketing all litigation court events.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Litigation correspondence.
  • Manage Compulaw Vision, My View and litigation docketing of Federal Court, PTAB, TTAB and IPR filings.
  • Daily Monitoring of litigation ECF mailbox, import ECF filings into Vision; import and update court rules, review scheduling orders, deposition notices, subpoenas and court correspondence for new dates to be added to Vision and MyView calendars.
  • Process requests for Certificates of Good Standing.
  • Review, research, and analyze information related to existing clients.
  • Organize and maintain client matter files, including electronic databases.
  • Manage/maintain case calendars and players’ lists.
  • Remind attorneys of upcoming due dates.
  • Create and maintain case captions and document templates.
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of briefs and memoranda, including exhibits and appendices.
  • Cite check and shepardize briefs and memoranda including table of authorities and table of contents.
  • Coordinate electronic document production processes with litigation attorneys.
  • Manage and interact with vendors selected to perform work on cases.
  • Prepare check requests and manage payment of vendor invoices.
  • Load data and images from media sources to the Firm’s systems.
  • Deposition preparation and follow-up, including booking court reporters and/or meeting space, creating exhibits and outlines, and management of deposition/trial transcripts, errata, and exhibits.
  • Trial/hearing preparation and assistance.
  • Ability/willingness to travel to and attend trial as needed.
  • Ability/willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation paralegal experience, with at least 2 years in Intellectual Property litigation.
  • Experience with Federal Court filings, especially District of Delaware ECF procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word (using Styles), Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong familiarity with litigation support software and electronic discovery tools (e.g., Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap, or similar).
  • Experience managing litigation calendars and deadlines using Compulaw Vision and MyView (or comparable docketing systems).
  • Solid understanding of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, local rules, and Intellectual Property Office procedures (PTAB, TTAB, IPR).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to draft and proofread litigation documents accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for trial or case-related events as needed.
  • Availability to work overtime during peak litigation periods.
