Job description

Wells Fargo is back in the office collaborating for fabulous outcomes!

This role is in the office three days a week and work from home two days a week.

There is no visa sponsorship or visa transfers for the role.

We're looking for an experienced leader who has successfully delivered complex network security and access modernization programs in highly regulated environments and can bring both technical depth and execution discipline to enterprise-wide initiatives.

Join Wells Fargo's Cybersecurity organization and play a key leadership role in advancing enterprise Workforce Access and Zero Trust security initiatives that protect one of the world's largest financial institutions.

This position sits at the intersection of cybersecurity strategy, network security engineering, and large-scale program execution, partnering across engineering, architecture, application teams, and business stakeholders to drive critical security transformations.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead enterprise-wide network security initiatives, driving the resolution of highly complex technical challenges across cloud, on-premises, and secure access environments.
  • Provide strategic oversight for network security architecture, infrastructure modernization, and large-scale technology transformation programs.
  • Support Workforce Access initiatives by coordinating and driving execution across Proxy, Remote Access, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Firewall, Segmentation, and other network security technologies.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams, architects, application owners, and project stakeholders to establish execution plans, track milestones, manage risks and dependencies, and drive delivery.
  • Evaluate security risks, operational trends, and emerging threats to develop recommendations that strengthen the organization's security posture and resilience.
  • Direct the implementation of Zero Trust, secure access, cloud security, and network protection capabilities while ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Govern major infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and platform transformations from strategy through production deployment.
  • Establish and enforce security controls, standards, and governance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and enterprise risk management requirements.
  • Assess high-risk technology changes and provide executive-level guidance on risk mitigation, operational readiness, and production stability.
  • Identify gaps in security, operational, and technology processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability and security effectiveness.
  • Partner with executive leadership, engineering teams, risk organizations, and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity strategy with enterprise objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach high-performing engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing security engineering, network operations, or infrastructure teams within highly regulated organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise security transformation initiatives, including Zero Trust, cloud security, secure access, network modernization, and infrastructure protection programs.
  • Extensive experience developing and implementing security governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to partner with executive leadership to align cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and technology investments with business objectives.
  • Experience leading large-scale infrastructure migrations, security platform implementations, and global operational support functions.
  • Strong knowledge of network security technologies, cloud platforms, access control, vulnerability management, and enterprise security operations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CISM, GIAC, CISSP, AWS, or cloud security certifications.
