Duties and Responsibilities: โ€ข Teaches assigned machine tool technology courses, and associated labs in accordance with the college's workload policy.
โ€ข Maintains written instructional standards.
โ€ข Facilitates instruction in accordance with instructional standards using alternative delivery methods as needed.
โ€ข Posts and maintains office hours in accordance with policy.
โ€ข Maintains familiarity and adherence to school policy.
โ€ข Participates in the assessment and development of student learning outcomes.
โ€ข Establishes, maintains, and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.
โ€ข Assists in the preparation of course proposals, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools.
โ€ข Reviews and updates course outlines, textbooks, laboratories, and course procedure sheets for welding technology courses.
โ€ข Assists with curriculum updates and the construction of degree/certificate programs.
โ€ข Applies and maintains standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures such as and in accordance with industry standards.
โ€ข Implements changes as necessary to maintain a successful machine tool technology program.
โ€ข Integrates knowledge of customers, competitors, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve program quality.
โ€ข Works as part of an instructional team by participating in machine tool technology course scheduling, department, division, and college meetings.
โ€ข Serves on college committees as assigned.
โ€ข Works to maintain the integrity of department curriculum.
โ€ข Maintains partnerships with local area employers to assist in arranging field experiences for program students.
โ€ข Collaborates with college community and area high schools in support of machine tool technology events and competitions.
โ€ข Assists in recruiting students and supporters to the program.
โ€ข Participates in job fairs, recruiting events, and other special events related to the machine tool technology program.
โ€ข Maintains equipment and supply inventory.
โ€ข Act as advisers to student organizations.
โ€ข Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
โ€ข Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and career planning.
โ€ข Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
โ€ข Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Required Education:
Required Experience: โ€ข 5 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: โ€ข Demonstrated proficiency in performing modern machining practices to include the use and application of CNC devices. Demonstrates the ability to teach this information to students using current pedological practices.
โ€ข Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment with both small and large groups.
โ€ข Ability to work with a diverse, non-traditional, and traditionally underserved population.
โ€ข Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Working knowledge of a student information system and/or knowledge of microcomputer/software applications.
โ€ข Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and written, at all levels.
โ€ข Proven ability to present a positive image for the college, maintain professional demeanor, provide effective customer service, and made good decisions.
โ€ข Oral and written communication skills.
โ€ข Ability to perform basic mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks.
โ€ข Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines.
โ€ข Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships at all levels-students, peers, and Executives.
โ€ข Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
โ€ข Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
โ€ข Frequent (50% or more) sitting, standing, and walking.

โ€ข Reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch as required for filing and storage of office supplies and other work-related equipment.
