We are seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team and contribute to our novel work.

Position Overview:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts in cell preservation and advanced manufacturing. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tasks, including routine maintenance, conducting assays, cell culture, reagent preparation, and device development. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team at the forefront of scientific advancements and contribute to the future of biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning and organizing workspaces, equipment calibration, and inventory management.

  • Conduct various assays to analyze cell characteristics and evaluate the efficacy of preservation techniques.

  • Cultivate and maintain red blood cells and mammalian cell lines, ensuring proper growth conditions, media preparation, and contamination prevention.

  • Prepare reagents and solutions with precision, following established protocols and ensuring their availability for laboratory experiments.

  • Contribute to the development and testing of innovative devices and methodologies for cell preservation and advanced manufacturing processes.

  • Wash, organize, and distribute laboratory glassware, including hand washing large glassware and storing or distributing it as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, observations, and data analysis.

  • Adhere to safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Perform related duties as assigned in an efficient and organized manner to meet schedules and deadlines

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a related field of biology with a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in an academic and/or industry setting.

  • Proven experience in laboratory techniques, including cell culture, assays, and reagent preparation.

  • Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques, including media preparation, sterile techniques, and aseptic handling.

  • Experience in laboratory maintenance procedures, including equipment maintenance, cleaning, and inventory management.

  • Experience with device development, prototyping, and testing is a plus.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to technical discussions.

  • Commitment to laboratory safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
