Location: Clear Lake, Iowa or Minneapolis, MN (Onsite)

Position Summary

Pritchard Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Payroll & HRIS Manager to lead payroll administration, HRIS management, benefits administration, and related compliance functions across the organization.

This role serves as the company's subject matter expert for payroll processing, ADP Workforce Now administration, HR technology, workforce reporting, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure efficient HR and payroll operations while delivering an exceptional employee experience.


Work Environment
  • This position is onsite and requires regular in-person attendance at our Clear Lake, Iowa office.
  • Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support payroll operations, system implementations, training initiatives, and other business needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Oversee payroll audits, reconciliations, tax reporting, and year-end processing activities.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll controls, procedures, and business continuity plans.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and operational leaders to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency.
HRIS Administration & Technology Management
  • Serve as the primary administrator for ADP Workforce Now.
  • Manage system configuration, security, workflows, and user access.
  • Lead system enhancements, upgrades, testing, implementations, and process improvements.
  • Ensure data integrity across HR, payroll, benefits, and employee records.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics.
  • Drive automation and technology solutions that improve efficiency and the employee experience.
Benefits Administration
  • Support employee benefit programs, including enrollments, life events, auditing, reporting, and system administration.
  • Partner with vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant administration of benefit plans.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and system support.
Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation.
  • Lead payroll, HRIS, and compliance audits.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll, tax, labor, and data privacy regulations.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and workforce analytics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service levels across HR operations.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of payroll administration experience.
  • 5+ years of HRIS administration experience.
  • Advanced experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or CEBS certification.
  • Experience with additional HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, SAP, or SuccessFactors.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location workforce.
  • Experience leading HR technology projects or system implementations.
