Job description

Job Title Electrical Technician
 
What to expect 
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within our highly automated assembly equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, PLC controls, and safety systems.
 
What you'll do:
  • Assembly & Installation: Assemble, install, and wire electrical components and systems according to schematics and specifications. This includes control panels, wiring harnesses, sensors, and actuators.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in equipment, utilizing your knowledge of electrical theory and testing equipment.
  • PLC Programming & Modification: Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs (Beckhoff and Siemens) based on engineer instructions to optimize equipment performance and resolve issues.
  • Drive Systems: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Servo Drive systems.
  • Schematic Updates: Update and modify electrical schematics using ePlan Electrical CAD software to reflect changes and improvements to equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, efficiency, and safety. Suggest modifications or upgrades to enhance performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Prepare reports and documentation as required.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures, when working on electrical equipment.
  • Field ServiceDo occasional travel out to customer sites to handle any problems that arise. 
What you'll bring
  • Education: 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree. Equivalent technical certifications and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Industrial Electrical Systems: Strong understanding of industrial electrical principles, including AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and safety systems.
    • PLC Programming: Knowledge of Beckhoff and Siemens PLCs, with the ability to interpret and modify ladder logic and other PLC code.
    • VFDs & Servo Drives: Knowledge of VFD and Servo Drive systems, including their installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
    • CAD Software: Knowledge in using ePlan Electrical CAD software for schematic design and modification.
    • Troubleshooting: Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex electrical issues.
    • Communication: Ability to communicate technical information effectively with engineers and other team members.

The U.S. base hourly rate range for this full-time position is $30-42/hr, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits.
