JOB SPECIFICS Washington County Property Records and Taxpayer Services Department is hiring for a Taxpayer Services Technician. The person in this role provides customer service; record legal documents and research property, preparation and processing; and performs general office duties. HOURS / DAYS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position may be eligible for 1-2 days of remote work per week; however, work schedules and locations are subject to change based on departmental needs and are not guaranteed. Working ability to solve problems. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to customer inquiries for various legal document related processes and services. Make referrals to other departments as necessary.
Answer phone call inquiries by providing information or directing calls. Review and process legal documents, applications, and forms for accuracy and completeness. Research, analyze and verify records, reports, applications and other documents.
Conduct searches or communicate with representative's other divisions or government agencies. Adheres to statutes, laws, and regulations; clarify interpretations of statutes laws, and regulations. Collects, enters, scans, proofs, edits, corrects and verifies data in computer systems with or without established procedures or computer application.
Processes, sorts, checks for accuracy, and files department materials, i.e., forms, reports, licenses, certificates, deeds, applications, orders, vouchers, documents, legal instruments, or other materials in accordance with established routine and policy. Process transactions, collect fees and process overpayments. Collects and records a variety of receipts and disbursements for various funds
Compiles data and calculates various financial statistical reports. Prepares memos, correspondence, forms, statistical data, reports; proofs for accuracy and makes corrections. Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepares, maintains and files records. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential functions: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is sedentary (sitting and/or standing_) in nature performed within the Government Center or satellite offices. Lifting requirement of 15 - 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Work may require assisted lifting of equipment up to 80 pounds.
Wrist and finger manipulation due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to, computer, , calculator, telephone, copy ,cash register, microfiche and fax machine, and bar code machine.
