Job description

Job Summary for Desktop Support Technician (Birmingham, AL)
- Provide high-quality, onsite deskside IT support to end users, ensuring excellent customer service and timely problem resolution.
- Collaborate within a team environment and support other IT teams (AV, Network, Servers) through hands-and-eyes assistance.
- Manage and report on SLAs, ensuring service requests and incidents are resolved within agreed service levels.
- Oversee shift planning, on-call rosters, and resource productivity.
- Lead and train team members, enabling skills development and process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and maintain accurate inventory levels across locations.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and software.
- Perform hardware break/fix, desk side support, IMACD (Install, Move, Add, Change, Delete) tasks, data migrations, system refreshes, and routine health checks.
- Manage ticket queue, coordinate with vendors, and provide status updates to end users.
- Conduct security-related tasks, such as access reviews, risk assessments, and compliance verifications.
- Coordinate with higher-level support teams and participate in project work, site setups, and disaster recovery efforts.
- Provide IT support for onsite/offsite events and meetings, including coordination with AV contacts and stand-by support.
- Offer on-call support outside business hours as needed and travel to remote sites when required.
- Maintain physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs at waist level.
- Utilize strong technical experience with Windows OS, MS Office, VPN, network printing, notebooks, and mobile devices.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Hold CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
