As a Construction Observer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Provide daily observation of construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports.
  • Track material quantities and unit prices.
  • Interpret plans and specifications and maintain a red-line set of construction drawings.
  • Assist contractors with RFIs and review material submittals.
  • Conduct field testing of construction materials.
  • Retrieve and document construction material samples.
  • Perform other tasks associated with construction observation and inspection as assigned.
  • Frequent overnight travel may be required; per diem will be provided.

What We Are Looking For
  • Education -- You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industry Experience -- You have at least 3+ years of experience in roadway or utility infrastructure construction either with an engineering firm or as an employee of a general construction contractor.
  • Project and Construction Knowledge -- You have past experience in construction management or observation.
  • Technical and Communication Skills -- You have written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel). You have the ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications.
  • Personal Strengths -- You are determined, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused.
  • Bonus Skills -- Construction materials laboratory testing experience is a plus.
