Job description

Wickersham Construction & Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion. This is a leadership role for a proven builder who can run a project like a business—owning the schedule, budget, subcontractors, client relationships, and overall project outcome while staying ahead of problems and supporting the field team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction and planning through closeout and warranty.
  • Own project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules, procurement, change orders, contracts, and profitability.
  • Partner closely with the Project Superintendent to manage subcontractors, site logistics, safety, quality, manpower, and project milestones.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, buyout and negotiations while identifying risks, long-lead items, and cost exposure early.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams while mentoring developing Project Managers and APMs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of commercial construction project management experience with responsibility for projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, project controls, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and subcontractor management.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, cost projections, change orders, schedules, and financial performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience considered.
  • Design-build, preconstruction, commercial, industrial, institutional, water/wastewater, or pre-engineered metal building experience is a plus.

We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and trade specialization)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
    • Medical Insurance
    • Dental Insurance
    • Vision Insurance
    • Life Insurance
  • Retirement - 401K
  • Paid time off - Sick, Holidays, & Vacation
  • Employee Referral Program
  • Long-term stability with a well-established, century-old company
  • Consistent pipeline of local and regional infrastructure projects
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact builds that directly support communities
  • A team culture that values craftsmanship, accountability, and pride in the finished product
  • A senior-level opportunity with an established Lancaster-based contractor serving Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware.
  • Diverse projects across commercial, industrial, institutional, design-build, pre-engineered metal building, and water/wastewater construction.
  • The opportunity to take true ownership of projects and play an important role in Wickersham's continued growth and future leadership.
  • A team environment that values accountability, field expertise, problem solving, strong relationships, and developing future construction leaders.
