Schedule: M-Th 6am 4:30pm, overtime as requested on Fridays

POSITION SUMMARY

The Laser Operator safely performs all operations of the machine, ensuring proper function and adjustments that meet specific requirements. The goal of the laser department is to maintain a safe work environment and produce quality parts as efficiently as possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform safe start up and shut-down sequence of equipment.

Identify correct material for each job by reviewing the job traveler.

Load sheet metal on laser utilizing a hoist system.

Locate the correct program to run on the CNC Machine.

Independently perform cutting techniques with limited oversight.

Establish proper stop location.

Monitor machine cutting performance and utilization.

Remove cut pieces and skeleton from laser, organize parts on pallets.

Grind finished parts as needed.

Perform prescribed maintenance as required.

Perform all dimensional inspections and document as required.

Identify opportunities to support safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

Perform general housekeeping duties.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High school Diploma

Experience: Metal fabrication manufacturing environment with experience (1-3 years) operating a CNC fiber laser, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office

Other Requirements:

Blueprint Reading

Willingness to receive hoist operation certification

Read measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, and tape measure

Operate tools: electric grinder, die grinder, hammer, chisel, etc.
