To thrive as a Chess Instructor, you need a deep understanding of chess strategies, tactics, and rules, often demonstrated by chess ratings or tournament experience. Familiarity with chess software (such as ChessBase or Lichess), online teaching platforms, and certification from organizations like the US Chess Federation is valuable. Actively seeking feedback and participating in coaching communities can further help improve teaching methods and handle the demands of the role.
