Asbestos Abatement TechnicianPaul Davis is seeking an experienced Asbestos Abatement Technician to perform asbestos, lead, mold, and hazardous-material remediation.
What does an Asbestos Abatement Technician with Paul Davis do?
  •  Sets up regulated work areas, containments, critical barriers, and decontamination units 
  •  Installs and monitors negative-air machines and HEPA filtration equipment 
  •  Safely removes asbestos-containing materials using approved work practices 
  •  Removes drywall, joint compound, acoustic ceiling texture, flooring, mastics, insulation, duct components, and other regulated materials 
  •  Properly bags, wraps, labels, stages, and loads asbestos-containing waste 
  •  Performs HEPA vacuuming, wet wiping, encapsulation, and final cleaning 
  •  Uses and properly maintains respirators, PPE, tools, and abatement equipment 
  •  Follows project work plans and all applicable AQMD, Cal/OSHA, EPA, DTSC, and company requirements 
  •  Completes daily logs, equipment records, photographs, timecards, and other required job documentation 
  •  Problem-solves and helps the team find safe, effective solutions 
  •  Improves the community by serving others 
  •  Learns new skills involving environmental services, restoration, and construction 
  •  Has fun and is part of a growing business

Required Experience and Certifications
  •  Minimum of three years of asbestos-abatement field experience 
  •  Current Cal/OSHA-approved AHERA Asbestos Worker certification 
  •  Current annual asbestos-worker refresher certificate 
  •  Current medical clearance authorizing respirator use 
  •  Current respirator fit-test documentation 
  •  Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record 
  •  Working knowledge of asbestos containments, decontamination procedures, negative-air systems, respiratory protection, waste packaging, and final cleaning 
  •  Ability to provide copies of all required certifications and training documents before beginning work

  •  High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Physical Requirements
  •  Ability to wear a half-face or full-face respirator for extended periods 
  •  Ability to work while wearing protective clothing and required PPE 
  •  Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds 
  •  Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in confined or restricted spaces 
  •  Ability to work indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and wet conditions 
  •  Ability to pass required medical evaluations and respirator fit testing
