Are you ready to take your engineering skills to the next level?

As a Software Engineer II at Spectra Logic, you’ll write code in Go to solve real-world problems and build reliable, elegant software components that impact our clients globally.

This role is the perfect sweet spot for an engineer who has mastered the basics and is eager to execute tasks with increasing independence. You'll work with standard, cutting-edge architectural patterns while enjoying the autonomy to own your features from concept to delivery
What You’ll Do (Your Impact)
  • Build & Deliver: Take ownership of standard features within a defined scope, turning functional requirements into high-quality, reliable code.
  • Problem Solve: Dive into specific application modules to debug, resolve issues, and continuously optimize performance.
  • Mentor & Collaborate: Share your knowledge! You'll conduct meaningful peer code reviews for junior-level contributors, helping foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Innovate Processes: Play an active role in shaping our automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines to keep our deployment engine fast and flawless.
  • Shape the Roadmap: Participate in sprint planning by providing realistic estimates for small tasks and individual work items—your voice matters in how we build.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion clean code by identifying and suggesting improvements to existing code structure and readability.
What We Are Looking For
We believe great software is built by passionate, curious people.
For this role, we are looking for:
  • Experience: 1+ years of professional experience writing Go code in a software engineering or equivalent role, showing a solid foundation in software development lifecycles.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on professional experience).
  • Mindset: A proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborative root-cause analysis, values well-documented code, and thrives on meeting sprint commitments alongside an awesome team.
What’s In It For You?
  • Growth Path: Clear opportunities to elevate your technical skills and transition into senior engineering and leadership roles.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside technical writers, senior architects, and cross-functional teams who value your input.
  • Work-Life Balance: A predictable, steady delivery pace aligned with sprint commitments—no endless firefighting.
Compensation: $54 - 74/ hour, 1099 Contractor. Contract can be terminated by either party at any time.
