Airport Lounge Porter
Shifts: 10:00 AM-8:30 PM Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
Hyde Park Hospitality is hiring a Full-Time Porter for The Club lounge located inside the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)!
We cover airport badging fees and pay for our employees' parking passes!

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Porter Job Summary:

Porter performs a full range of duties and responsibilities in support of the lounge operations. Puts away deliveries in an organized and efficient manner. Cleans and organizes storage areas. Performs inventory count. Stocks and rotates food items in kitchen, pantry, and bar areas following FIFO method.

Porter Basic Skills:

  • Guest Experience- Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times ensuring the highest level of guest experience.
  • Active Listening โ€“ Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Speaking โ€“ Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Conflict Resolution โ€“ deescalate situations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Problem Solving โ€“ develop solutions to remove obstacles to problems that may arise.

Porter Primary Job Duties:

  • Clean and organize storage areas utilizing FIFO (first in first out) method and ensure compliance with food safety and storing requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
  • Restock beverage stations, pantry, and kitchen with product to par levels utilizing a cart to move items from storage area(s) to appropriate lounge area(s).
  • Put away deliveries in an efficient and organized manner following FIFO method.
  • Maintain required log sheets (receiving log, temperature logs, etc.).
  • Perform inventory count.
  • Label and date products.
  • Assist with cleaning of all lounge areas.
  • Wash dishes and load and unload the dishwashing machine.
  • Assist with the removal of trash throughout lounge, taking to designated disposal areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Porter Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the scope of primary job duties.
  • Requires ability to maintain a presentable and polished appearance in keeping with service standards in a best-in-class environment.
  • Be able to stand during entire scheduled shift.
  • Ability to handle the stress of a face-paced work shift up to ten (10) hours.
  • Requires the ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
  • Report on work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Must be able to pass and obtain security background check and clearance to work in airport environment.
