Join our team as a Maintenance Engineer at Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown!

We're searching for a skilled Maintenance Engineer who will be an integral part of our team, ensuring that every aspect of our property operates smoothly and efficiently. From quick fixes in guest rooms to larger maintenance projects, your role is crucial in ensuring that our guests have a seamless and memorable stay, and you'll be celebrated for your dedication and expertise.
Your Role:
As our Maintenance Engineer, you'll be the driving force behind maintaining our hotel's infrastructure with 96 guest rooms, from fixing equipment and handling guest requests to performing preventative maintenance. Some of your responsibilities include:
  • Handle maintenance requests swiftly and effectively, ensuring guest satisfaction with timely solutions.
  • Follow established procedures and policies diligently, and report emergencies or unusual situations immediately.
  • Perform a range of repairs and preventative maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and minor repairs, contributing to the hotel's upkeep including guest rooms, meeting rooms, equipment, and furniture.
  • Conduct regular property walks to monitor cleanliness and address any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Immediately follow up on any alarms or safety concerns.
  • Regular property walks throughout the day to ensure proper cleaning/sanitation is occurring.
  • Assist housekeeping in stripping rooms, carting laundry, sanitizing the gym/fitness center as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • 2+ years Engineering experience in a hotel or similar field required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
  • Flexible availability.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
