The Avid by IHG Fort Worth Downtown is looking for an outgoing individual who is eager about sales and ready to take our property to the next level.  We are looking for either an experienced Director of Sales, or a Sales Manager willing to learn the IHG Way of Selling. 
A Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenue by securing room, group, meeting, and event business through prospecting, client relationship management, market analysis, and strategic sales planning. They develop sales strategies, negotiate contracts, manage key accounts, attend trade shows, and collaborate with hotel departments to meet or exceed revenue targets.  This person will work closely with the General Manager and the Revenue Manager to make and execute a sales strategy that will ensure we meet and exceed our revenue goals.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Have a valid Texas Driver's License with a clear driving record as you will be required to go on sales calls to client offices
  • Have an outgoing personality and be able to converse with guests, recognize opportunities, and ask open-ended questions
  • Ability to multitask, manage time, and meet weekly/monthly sales activity targets
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and produce results 
  • 2 years of hotel experience in an operations position or 2 years of related sales experience is preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and develop new corporate and group accounts through outreach, trade shows, site visits, and networking
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue goals
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities 
  • Prepare proposals, deliver presentations, and negotiate contracts for room blocks
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts to ensure repeat business and loyalty
  • Respond to RFPs and prepare competitive bids
  • Coordinate with operations and revenue management to ensure seamless execution of bookings
  • Track sales activities and report on performance metrics
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and community meetings. Some events may take place after hours
Salary:
Salary will be discussed with the individual candidate and can be customized to match the experience and schedule of our desired candidate.  For example, a sales coordinator will be entry level and an hourly associate.  However, an experienced Director of Sales will be a salary associate.
